Fish Mimics Mimic Octopus That Mimics Fish!

The mimic octopus, scientifically known as the Thaumoctopus mimicus is able to take of the forms of a lionfish, a jellyfish, a shrimp, a crab, and more than ten other animals. However the mimic has now become the mimicked.

A jawfish in Indonesia has recently been filmed mimicking the mimic octopus!

You heard it right. Although it is not some magical, alien occurrence, it is still quite the story.

Trent Arsenault, a 36 year old man has fathered 14 healthy children throughout his life as a sperm donor. He claims he has the "ideal gene pool" for fathering children. I think that can be debated...

He explained on Anderson Cooper's daytime show what his thoughts were on his generous donating.
"I coined this term 'donor sexual' and I'll explain it means 100 per cent of my sexual energy is for producing sperm for childless couples to have babies. So I don't have other activity outside of that."

Maybe this is all just an excuse for his friends as to why he remains a virgin...
Maybe he's just so obsessed with the movie "40-year Old Virgin" that he wants to become it..

Getting drunk from a tampon!

Yes, you read it correctly. Some teenagers are going to extreme lengths to get drunk the fastest way possible.

You might've seen this one on the news already but it most definitely worth re-posting for those unaware. This quick video basically sums up the story.

I'm all for getting drunk and having a good time, but really? Sticking tampons up your ass in order to do so? REALLY?

That's just taking it TOO FAR. Just imagine some teenagers ready to go out, then they all grab their alcohol soaked tampons and stick them up their ass. Wait, don't imagine that..

But still. Too far guys...too far...

Amish men jailed!

Bit of an ironic situation as my last post they were the victims. Well, on to the story anyways.

The first of the 10 Amish has already been sent to jail for 10 days. They are all being charged with refusing to face fines for breaking the state highway rules in Kentucky. The law being that their horse drawn carts are required to have reflective orange triangles on the back of their vehicles.

Once again the men have a religious objection to the bright orange signs, which they say are flashy and conflict with their pledge to live low-key and religious lives.

Seems like their 'low-key' lifestyle is causing a bit of trouble for themselves and their families.

Defendents plead Not Guilty to beard cutting!

10 men and 2 women were indicted on seven counts for their part in unusual attacks starting September 2011. Most of these charges being 'bear and hair cutting assaults'. As the assaults were taking place in a tight-knit Amish community, the attacks were considered especially egregious because the beard is a symbol of a man's identity among the Amish and women in the community do not cut their hair for biblical reasons

The judge has release 5 of the defendants on a $20,000 bond, setting a trial date for March 19.

This case seems so surreal to me. I have never experienced an Amish culture nor ever seen an Amish person in real life. I just can't seem to fathom people going around and cutting off other peoples beards as a federal hate crime. I apologize if you think I'm being ignorant about this.

Worlds's Smallest Frog!

Measuring in at an average of just 7.7 millimeters long, or 0.3 inches for you Americans, the Paedophryne amauensis now holds the title for the world's smallest frog. Beating its competitor by 0.2 millimeters. Just think about that for a second, less than 1cm long.

It has become the worlds smallest known vertebrate, the same size of a housefly. It was found during a study in Papua New Guinea back in August 2009 but only 'formally described' in January 2011. Who says animals are only going extinct and not evolving into new species?

Some interesting facts about the frog:

Its life cycle does not include a tadpole stage.
They are capable of jumping 30 times their length.
They feed on small invertebrates such a mites.

Kind of a weird question, but would you rather have a 'normal' sized frog, or 100 of these little fellas?

Lion tries to attack a little girl!

$34,000, the worlds most expensive tea!

And the secret ingredient? Putting it bluntly, panda shit.

An Yanshi, a former calligraphy teacher, has recently entered into the tea business and made it his goal to produce the worlds most expensive tea using quite a peculiar ingredient. He has purchased 11 tonnes of panda shit to fertilize a tea crop in the mountains of Sichuan, home to the gentle giants.

He says he is deadly serious about his new project as he quit his old job at the university to put his heart and soul into his panda shit experiment.

So would you pay a whopping $34,000 to be drink this stuff?
Would you even drink it for free?

There a Crocodile in my house!

Some people like to have a good alarm clock to wake them up. Turning the volume up to maximum, using your most hated song as the sound or even hiding the clock so you have to get up and find it. Maybe the most effective though, a crocodile in your lounge room.

A Darwin family had the not so pleasant experience of being woken up by their braking dog only to find it was barking at a 1.7m salt water crocodile a mere 3m from the bedroom. Luckily they were able to fend of the beast with an acoustic guitar.

Neighbours also say 15 crocodiles suspected of escaping from the Darwin Crocodile Farm had turned up on their properties over the past five years.

Born Jeffrey Drew Wilschke he changed his name to Beezow Doo-Doo Zoopittybop-Bop-Bop last October. Who really knows why he changed it. Maybe he knew he would eventually get caught and thought he would make world news for his obscure name. If he did plan it that way, I still can't tell if hes smart, a smart idiot or just a plain idiot!

He was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and a violation of probation in Madison, Wisconsin.One more thing,
on his way to the prison, Beezow Doo-Doo Zoopittybop-Bop-Bop allegedly told cops that he would eventually "get even with them."

Another idiotic criminal story for you guys today. This time taking us to London is a man that raided the Halifax bank in town of Cheapside. Not so cheap when the man demanded 700,000 EU (approx. $900,000 USD) from a bank teller.

His mind must have lapsed as after he stated his demand, he handed over his gun to the worker instead of his duffel bag. Only after a couple of seconds did the crook realise what he had done and reached to grab the gun back. He was out of luck though and ran for the door as the security shutters came down.

Even if the robbery had gone to his plan, he forgot the part about an escape vehicle. This lead to him stealing a bank workers bike and pedalling off. The bank has released a photo of the criminal and a 25,000 EU reward for any information about him.

If some of you may remember back to the start of last year, this was occurring all over the world already.

January 3rd 2011, 100 tonnes of dead fish in Brazil
January 3rd 2011, 500 birds fell from the sky in Louisiana
January 3rd 2011, approx. 2 million dead fish in Maryland
January 5th 2011, hundreds of dead turtle doves in Italy
January 14th 2011, 200 cows found dead in Wisconsin

According to scientists, there are logical reason for all of these mass die offs, which are stated to be not unusual. However, as we all know it to be, this does not stop the conspiracy theorists shouting their end of the world conspiracies until the day they send all their money to the "prophet".

With this new case of over 20 tonnes of herring washed up onto shore in Norway it will only add strength to their beliefs. Thankfully the locals aren't so much worried about their town being 'taken' first but more about the god awful smell that will soon be wafting into their neighborhoods.

Hey guys, sorry for not posting lately. I've been trying to schedule posts but for some reason it turns back into a draft after I close it. Supposed to have had one out on Tuesday but no luck :(

Have another scheduled for today, hopefully it will work this time!

A North Carolina man is being held in jail and potentially facing criminal charges after trying to pay for $500 worth of items with a $1 million bill at the local Walmart.

It worries me that people actually think this could work. Especially due to the fact that there was never a $1 million bill printed in the US and that it would no way possible for the whole store, let alone the cashier he used to provide the right change...

Samoans jump in time!

186,000 people have effectively erased a date on their calender forever.

"Samoans who had gathered around the main clock tower in the capital Apia cheered and clapped as the clock struck midnight on Thursday, December 29, instantly transporting the country 24 hours ahead to Saturday, December 31."

The country of Samoa was moved across the international dateline in order to make it easier to trade with Australia and New Zealand. As well as 90% of Samoans emigrating to Australia and New Zealand, it was only a matter of time before the change was made.

Grinch returns Christmas!

A bag of presents totaling a whopping $1300 USD was stolen from a Santa in the city centre of Piazza Navona in Rome on Christmas Eve.

However with a passionate appeal for the thieves to return the presents, the gifts appeared back in their place still wrapped! Along with a note explaining "We're sorry. We made a mistake. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"

I find it interesting how they "made a mistake?" I didn't know it was possible to steal presents in a Santa bad which are even wrapped up and then say it was a mistake. Oh well, some people are just weird.

Cow, dead for 3 years, has just been cloned.

South Korean researchers have just successfully cloned a cow that passed away over 3 years ago thanks to the ever advancing "freezing and thawing technology".

The team leading this research announced their success in developing this new technology to allow mass cloning of animals that have been dead for an extended period of time.

The cloning process consists of the ultra-rapid freezing of embryos created from a dead cow, followed by thawing and implanting them into the womb of another cow three years after they were frozen.

I'm sure most of you already knew we were able to clone animals, but soon we may be living in the hit movie "The 6th Day". Burying you're pets may soon be a thing of the past.

In other news, I'm going to Thailand for a week so I'm not going to be able to update you on the wacky news in the world, in other words I have been to lazy to schedule posts... :)

Tennessee bans distressing images on the internet....

Just recently a law has passed making it illegal to post images that can "frighten, intimidate or cause emotional distress" to someone. As some have said, there goes the internet...for Tennessee at least.

The interesting thing is, given the circumstances, is that offenders may be charged even if its not the targeted recipient who is distressed. Anyone that views the image, which basically means anyone on the internet, is able to press charges.

Prosecution can lead up to $2,500 in fines or almost a year in jail.

Internet users in Tennessee can expect to see more and more images becoming blurred and censored.

What would you do to buy an iPad?

For some, they will go as far as selling one of their kidneys. A young 17year old Chinese boy just recently decided that he was sick of living without an iPad that he sold one of his kidneys.

The operation only took 3 days to complete after traveling to Chenzhou in the Human Province to have the performed. Upon his release he was given 20,000 CNY which is approximately $3000 US.

Many sources are even reporting that he ended up with not only an iPad 2 but an iPhone, a new laptop, a brand new headset and an iPod as well. Well maybe not all of them, but some of them at least. I can't tell if he deserves them or not due to the fact of his high determination or due to the fact that he decided that literally selling his body was worth a new iPad 2.

Moose penetrates reteriment homes' defenses!

A moose just recently plowed through a glass window of a retirement home in the dining room of south west Sweden. It apparently knocked over flower pots and furniture and even got stuck in a set of doors before returning to the wild.

Police have said that aside from the poor moose who was scratched by the window, no one was hurt in the unlawful attack.

Makes you wonder if the moose actually knew what it was doing. I can just imagine the moose just doing it for fun and giving photographers this face...

Plagues of mice ravaging farmers pigs!

When John Gregory entered his piggery one morning, he could not believe his eyes, mice feeding on his pigs. Looking for a solution, he turned to covering his pigs with oil as he figured they would not like the taste.

Although after coming back from a trip in April, turning into his driveway it looked like the ground was moving.Hundreds of thousands of mice were making their way into his farm, a sight many people would cringe at.

Resorting to a home brew poison as mouse bait is so expensive, he started to mix icing sugar and cement. "The icing sugar attracts the mice, they eat it, and the cement clogs them up."

This reminds me of the movie "The Rats". Man that movie scarred me for life when I was a kid.
